Zygote

zy-gote: The cell formed by the union of two gametes, especially a fertilized ovum before cleavage.

Zygote is the codename for a shop management package we’re developing. The application is targeted for the diesel industry. Its niche application is managing the process of repairs and maintenance for trucks.

What can it do?

  • Inventory: Zygote is smart about inventory. It can track your inventory for multiple sites and can distinguish each item as OEM, raw core, or a repaired exchange.
  • Core Rebuilds: Tracking the repair of a core and all the parts that go into it is automated with Zygote. Our customers are delighted to find that inventory is properly accounted for throughout the repair process.
  • Work Orders: We extended a base work order module with serial number tracking and instant history. You can easily see what repairs have been applied to a part and look up past repairs for an accurate parts pick list.
  • Invoicing: At the top of the system, you can easily generate an invoice for your customer from the work order. Invoicing also knows how to credit for core exchanges. When the core is received it’s automatically scheduled for repair. Later export the sales data to accounting packages such as QuickBooks.

We’re excited to be building this package with the new wave of Web 2.0 tools and philosophies. Because we reached near warp speed with the tools we were able to target our first beta release this month with a production release for end of summer.

Zygote is offered as a service. All you need is a broadband internet connection and we’ll handle the rest. You’ll be able to focus on your business while we handle all the maintenance, hosting, backups, and technical support for your staff.

more to come …
